Grammy-winning engineer Paul Falcone touched down in Jakarta to open the Asia leg of Mariah Carey’s The Celebration of Mimi tour, handling Front of House at the Sentul International Convention Center — one of Indonesia’s premier concert venues nestled in the hills south of the capital.
October 4, 2025 — Sentul International Convention Center, Jakarta 🇮🇩
Promoted by Color Asia Live, the sold-out show drew fans from across the Indonesian archipelago for a four-act spectacle celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Emancipation of Mimi. Opening act Boyzlife warmed up the crowd before Carey took the stage in a sparkling gown, delivering hits spanning her entire catalog — from “Vision of Love” and “Hero” to new singles “Type Dangerous” and “Sugar Sweet.”
Falcone delivered the FOH mix on a DiGiCo Quantum 338 through an L-Acoustics L2/L2D main PA system with Kara II outfills and frontfills and KS28 subwoofers — system processing handled by dual L-Acoustics P1 processors and tuned with Rational Acoustics Smaart v9 using DPA reference mics (venue provided). Mariah’s vocal ran through a DPA 2028-B-SL1 capsule on a Shure Axient ADX2 wireless transmitter, with all 18 IEM channels on Shure PSM1000 systems.
At the FOH position, dual Bricasti M7 reverb processors anchored the effects chain alongside Waves SuperRack running on redundant servers with a full Waves Ultimate plugin bundle. A DirectOut Exbox.SG bridged MADI to SoundGrid across a Netgear network. Separate independent rigs running AlphaLabs DeFeedback and LiveProfessor with LiquidSonics Seventh Heaven reverbs rounded out the digital signal chain, while full 128-channel multitrack capture ran on Pro Tools Ultimate to a Blackmagic Dock with 4TB of SSD storage. Timecode distribution utilized VisualProductions TimeCore throughout.
On the analog side, with conversion handled by Ferrofish, Falcone introduced processing by Empirical Labs Distressors, DBX compression, SSL channel strips, and both 500 series modules and full hardware versions of Bettermaker compressors, allowing for snapshot recall of analog compression. The rig was rounded out with MIDI interfaces by iConnectivity, switching by DirectOut, and timecode distribution by VisualProductions TimeCore.
An unforgettable night as Mimi’s legacy came to life for a packed Jakarta crowd.
